Dr. Rachel Stewart

ND, INC.

A woman with dark brown wavy hair smiling outdoors in a park or garden setting with trees and colorful foliage in the background.

Dr. Stewart believes the body has an inherent ability to heal itself when given the opportunity, but that sometimes it needs support to do so.

Her philosophy of less is often more means that rather than treating the symptom she is looking for the root cause of the issue and starting from there. She practices “whole-person” healthcare and encourages check-ins for prevention and optimal wellness.

Dr. Stewart’s practice focuses on healthcare for the whole family. She uses functional lab testing including allergy and hormone panels, clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, acupuncture, IV therapies and lifestyle counsellng in her treatments.

Dr. Stewart is a board-certified and licensed naturopathic doctor with prescriptive authority, a member of the College of Physicians of British Columbia, the BC Naturopathic Association, and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors.

Dr. Rachel Stewart received her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology from Queen’s University in Kingston, ON, and her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine Diploma from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, ON.

FAQs

with Dr. Stewart

  • I primarily offer care through virtual appointments but have in-person visits available at Living Wellness Centre once a month for those preferring or requiring it.

Initial appointments are one hour in length and allow me to get to know you, your current health concerns, your medical history and your health goals. Follow up appointments range from 15 to 45 minutes but are generally 30 minutes in length. With longer appointment times, there’s no limit on the number of concerns we can discuss in your appointment as I work with treating the whole body and often symptoms can be interrelated.

  • My favourite part of working as a ND is getting to know my patients! I think the relationship between a doctor and a patient is sometimes just as important as the medicine. People need to feel heard and validated in their healing process and I always feel honoured to be part of that journey with my patients.

  • As one of the original co-founders and owners of Living Wellness, the centre has not only been a workplace but also my creative space. In 2019 I handed the clinic over to my colleague Dr. Jenny Ma but I have continued to work and provide care there. I have since moved to a hobby farm in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island and I primarily work virtually from my home office but continue to come to Living Wellness Centre once a month for in-person visits. When I’m not working or driving my kids around I can often be found outside in my garden or off tending to our array of farm animals.
